When it comes to the most important woman in her life, our CEO Sonia Lo’s favorite dish to cook for her Mom features a rare grilled ahi tuna steak served two ways; as a classic Niçoise salad and in this Asian-inspired salad which features her Mom’s signature ginger dressing from the product line she developed to showcase the fresh complexity of Korean cuisine.
For the ginger dressing:
For the salad:
Preheat a grill or cast-iron grill pan until very hot. Season ahi tuna steak liberally with salt and pepper and grill briefly on each side (about 1 to 2 minutes) until rare. Set aside.
Meanwhile, distribute all of the salad ingredients evenly among plates or in bowls beginning with a bed of lettuce in the center of the plate and artfully arranging the remaining ingredients along the perimeter.
Thinly slice the ahi tuna and divide it amongst the plated salads atop the bed of lettuce and drizzle each salad with ginger dressing as desired. Any additional ginger dressing can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
