Spiced Fish Tacos with Red Cabbage and Greek-Yogurt and Cilantro Crema

Taco-spiced pan seared white fish, crunchy red cabbage, and a creamy Greek-Yogurt and Cilantro Crema make for a quick and healthy weeknight dinner. For an even leaner low-carb version, sub corn tortillas for crisp romaine lettuce wraps!

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl whisk together 1 tablespoon of olive oil, lime juice, and taco seasoning. Add cod and toss thoroughly to combine. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes. 


Step 2

Heat non-stick sauté pan over high heat until very hot. Cook tortillas in batches using the back of a spatula to apply pressure until char-toasted, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Wrap cooked tortillas in a clean kitchen towel to keep warm until ready to serve. 


Step 3

In the same pan, heat remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium high heat until hot. Gently pat fish dry on paper towel lined plate then carefully add to hot pan making sure not to overcrowd the pan (cook in batches if necessary). Cook fish for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until golden brown and flaky. Once cooked through, taste and adjust seasoning with kosher salt as needed. 


Step 4 

To assemble tacos stack two tortillas then add your cooked fish and garnish with a spoonful of salsaa good pinch of shaved red cabbage, a drizzle of crema, fresh cilantro leaves, and a lime wedge for squeezing. Serve immediately.
